Toledo Opera has partnered with the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation to present a series of free community events in Hancock County this spring. The final event in the “Opera for All” series will be a free community America 250 concert on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Bandshell at Riverside Park, 231 McManess Ave., Findlay.

Developed in partnership with presenting sponsor iHeart Media, Inc., Opera ‘Round Town expands Toledo Opera’s community outreach efforts, offering live performances at a range of community hubs across the region. The upcoming concert will feature Toledo Opera’s 2025-26 cohort of resident artists, selected from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo.

Resident artists Sarah Rachel Bacani, soprano; Danielle Casós, mezzo-soprano; Brady DelVecchio, tenor; Rick Hale, baritone; and Yura Jang, pianist, will perform vocal selections from the classical repertoire, along with musical theatre and other American standards.

For Toledo Opera General Director James M. Norman, the organization’s continued presence in Findlay reflects both a commitment to community connection and the strength of a valued local partnership.

“We are delighted to continue bringing world-class opera to Findlay, made possible through the generous support of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. This ongoing partnership has allowed us to share the joy and accessibility of opera with the community, and we look forward to deepening these connections with each return engagement,” Norman said.

“I’ve been genuinely moved by the response we’ve experienced each time our artists perform in Findlay,” shared Toledo Opera Development Officer Leah Whitaker. “The warmth, gratitude, and enthusiasm from the community, along with audience members who travel from near and far, have made every visit meaningful. It’s a true pleasure to perform there. We see this as the beginning of something important and look forward to building a lasting relationship that more fully includes Findlay as part of the Toledo Opera community.”

“The performing arts offer profound benefits that extend far beyond entertainment, enriching communities in cultural, social, economic, and personal ways. The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is thrilled to continue its partnership with Toledo Opera by sponsoring the America 250 concert. This is made possible through our Fun for All series of free community events,” shared Kimberly Bash, chief community engagement officer at the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. “The performing arts allow communities to share traditions, stories, and values. This special concert is a fun way for residents to celebrate 250 years of independence.”
