Wood County District Public Library encourages free mural scavenger hunt

Mural in Dog Leg Alley

From WOOD COUNTY DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY

Back by demand, the Wood County District Public Library is encouraging residents and visitors to seek out the murals bringing large-scale art to the city with its scavenger hunt. Over the past few years, Bowling Green has brightened its streets and walls with murals inspired by everything from native plants to fun critters.

“Each mural and every design has renewed these buildings to vibrant art pieces that Bowling Green can be proud of,” said Reference Assistant Rosie Minnick. “It is such a beautiful site to walk through the city and see art come alive.”

No registration is required for this self-paced project. People can pick up a form at the library that lists clues for finding murals located in Bowling Green city limits. Participants can check off the murals as they find them, and track their progress as they visit each one. There is no prize for this project – except for personal enjoyment of Bowling Green’s growing collection of urban art.
