Crane used for inspection of clay roof at Wood County Courthouse

Crane used to inspect courthouse roof.

The 200 block of North Summit Street in Bowling Green looked a little different this week, with a tall crane reaching high above the Wood County Courthouse.

The crane is needed for a regular inspection of the clay-tiled roof of the courthouse, which began Monday. Contractors used the crane to raise a cage that allowed two workers to inspect the tiles and gutters and identify any needed repairs.

The project required the short-term closure of several handicapped-accessible parking spaces adjacent to the east side of the courthouse. Anyone visiting the courthouse complex can access additional handicap spaces and general public parking right across Summit Street in the main county lot.
