Sara “Sally” Davison, 84, died November 15th, 2024, of natural causes.
Sally was born in Wooster Ohio, the daughter of Kenneth and Eileen Rhein. She graduated from Kent State University, where she met the love of her life Patrick Davison. They were married for 62 years until Pat’s death in May of 2024.
Sally is survived by her four children, Mike Davison (Vicki), Teri Loeffler (Ron), Rick Davison (Alicia) and Tim Davison (Maripa). Sally is beloved by their 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Sally had a humble upbringing in Wooster. She worked her way through college as a switchboard operator, connecting callers using manual cables. And indeed, she was an excellent communicator.
Sally earned her BA in Education from Kent State, but soon after married Pat and focused on their budding family. Once the children grew a bit, she attended Bowling Green State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Education. Sally worked as a Physical Education teacher for over 25 years, primarily at Marshall Elementary in Toledo, Ohio. She loved her work and her students. She was once awarded Ohio Dance Educator of the Year by The Ohio Physical Education Association. Sally was an avid reader and painter. She enjoyed boating, baking and gardening. She earned a Master Gardener Designation and helped tend the gardens at Toledo Botanical Garden. She also served as Vice-President of the Maumee Valley Herb Society.
Sally was an active member of McCord Road Christian Church and loved to volunteer. She started a knitting group and made shawls and hats for cancer patients. She was proud that their group donated thousands of knitted items to people in need. Sally and Pat also made deliveries for Meals on Wheels.
Sally lived her best life. She was a shining example to her children. She loved caring for her family, her home and yard and stayed active into her 80’s. She met you with a sparkle in her eye. She was a listener who also spoke her mind. She was honest, caring and positive. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be private.
