Ann Marie Wengert

Ann Marie Wengert, age 45, of Luckey, OH passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born on October 22, 1970 in Toledo, OH to David and Ruth (Steel) Wengert. She was a 1989 graduate of Eastwood High School and attended Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College. Ann was a pre-school teacher who loved caring for and educating children. This came easy to Ann, as she too was a kid at heart. In addition to her love of children, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, and reading. She particularly liked to follow the Toledo Walleye Hockey Team. But those who knew Ann best knew that she was a very free spirit and loved by all that came to know her.

Ann is survived by her parents: David and Ruth of Luckey, OH, sisters: Mary (Steven) Barker of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Katrina Wengert of Silver Spring, MD, nieces: Elliote Barker and Cameron Barker of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, aunts: Ruth Ann Manges, Sharon (Neil) Cornell and best friend: Susan. She was preceded in death by grandparents: Lawrence and Viola Wengert, Harry and Edith Steel and aunt: Margaret Hutson.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Luckey, OH with additional visitation from 10 AM until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Miller & Rev. Howard Abts. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH. A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Those wishing to provide a memorial contribution are asked to consider: Eastwood Music Department, or The American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care Ann received from Dr. David Brown and the staff of the Wood County Cancer Center, the staff of Wood County Hospital and for the special care she received from the team at UTMC.
