BG Holiday Parade sparkles

Float from the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities reflects the parade theme "Holiday Sparkles"

The Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade lived up to its theme “Holiday Sparkle.”

Under clear winter morning light, the parade delivered what the parade is supposed to deliver: holiday music, festive floats, dignitaries, candy for the grabbing, and plenty of smiles.

Here are just a few scenes from this morning’s parade.

Otsego Band
The Global Falcons contingent displayed their colors.
National Tractor Pullers Association float featured a pint-sized puller.
WTOL broadcast team, from left, Ryan Wichman, Caylee Kirby, and Jerry Anderson.
Raul Ascunce and Citizens for BG Dog Parks brought their campaign to the parade.
Chancellor of Higher Education Randy Gardner served as Honorary Grand Marshall.
The Wood County District Public Library celebrated all things Barbie.
William Shan with his mother Wen Wang greet the Barbie contingent.
Cyclewerks Bicycle and Fitness unit pedaled the parade route.
The Beat troupe danced down Main Street.
Doug Cubberley, who is seeking re-election as Wood County Clerk of Courts, hands out stickers to future voters.
Black Swamp Jeep Collectors added whimsical touches to their rides.
Sophia Jarrell, director the Black Swamp Fine Arts School with her son Frankie.
The Bobcat Marching Band made an impression as the last marching unit.
And Santa did, indeed, come to town.
