BG Police charge 2 women after local resident was reportedly beat up in her apartment

Bowling Green Police responded to an assault at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue, Saturday around 3 a.m.

Warrants were issued for Tiffany Welch, 30, Toledo, and Courtney Miller, 31, Toledo, for felony burglary, with felonious assault charges being considered.

The Toledo Police Department was able to locate and arrest Welsh on the warrant, and she was taken to Wood County Jail.

According to the BGPD report from the incident, officers arrived to the apartment to find a woman with a bleeding ear, and a handful of her hair in her hand. The woman said Welch and Miller had broken into her apartment and broke many items. Welch reportedly punched the resident multiple times in the head and face, grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground.

The victim reportedly yelled for her children to call police, and they ran to their closet, locked the door and called police. Welch allegedly continued punching the woman in the face, head and arm, then dragged her by her hair.

When the resident tried to escape her apartment, she reportedly encountered Miller standing in the doorway, videotaping the assault.

The assault reportedly ended when police sirens were heard.

The victim told police that Welch had assaulted her a few weeks earlier, and she was treated for a concussion. The prosecutor is considering felonious assault charges against Welch.
