BGHS plans for outdoor homecoming – ‘Bobcat Night Out’

Bowling Green High School Marching Band takes field during Fan Fair event in August.

Bowling Green High School shifted gears for homecoming this fall due to COVID-19. So the BGHS Student Activities Board – or StuCrew – is planning outdoor activities for the event, according to StuCrew advisers Lauren Tiell and Baley Sipple.

Homecoming festivities will be held Oct. 9, from 7 to 10 p.m., near the softball fields at the high school.

The theme for the event is “Bobcat Night Out.”

Activities planned include:

  • Dunk Tank (featuring the football and tennis coach)
  • Jousting and Bungee Run Inflatables through AirExtreme
  • Photo Booth
  • Music byLive Music Celedon (a BG high school band) and student-decided music
  • Bonfire
  • Food, with The Dog Waggin’ food truck being present
  • Cornhole tournament

There will also be a Powderpuff Game on Oct. 3 starting at 6 p.m. The winners will get a trophy and pizza. The football players are helping to coach and the teams are based on grade levels. It is a free event and everyone is invited to come out and support the teams. StuCrew would also love to have the community out to watch the girls play, according to the advisers.

Also in the days leading up to homecoming, Spirit Week will have the themes of:

  • Monochrome Monday
  • Twin Tuesday
  • Western Wednesday
  • Throwback Thursday
  • Bobcat Friday
