BGPD responds to theft of electric bike used by man with developmental disabilities

Bowling Green Police Division is investigating the theft of an electronic bicycle used by a man with developmental disabilities.

Police were called to the 400 block of South Main Street on Saturday (Aug. 12) around 6:30 p.m., after the bike was discovered missing. The owner of the bike told police he returned home with groceries the previous day around 8 p.m., and left the bike in front of the house. When he woke up Saturday morning, the bike was gone.

According to the police report, the owner stated he purchased the bike for $200 last month, after saving up just enough money to buy it.

It is a black and yellow Razor electric bike. A red and black helmet was taken as well.

The bike was purchased from Walmart, so police were going to check to see if the store had a serial number for the bike.
