Carol J Beeker

Heaven received one of the best today, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Carol J. Beeker, age of 89 of Pemberville, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at bridge hospice in Bowling Green only moments before her 69th wedding anniversary. She was born on June 12, 1929 on the family farm in Luckey, OH, to Arnold W. and Twyla F. (Peoples) Samson. She would graduate from Pemberville High School as the Salutatorian in 1947 and on June 30, 1949 she married the love of her life Robert “Red” Beeker in Pemberville. They would raise two daughters and celebrate 69 years of marriage. Carol had a long career as a school teacher receiving 2 years of formal education from BGSU after high school. However, she returned back to BGSU in 1965 and received her bachelor’s degree in education and continued to teach for another 20 ½ years at Eastwood Schools. While she had an immense love of teaching she also had a strong devotion to her faith and was very active at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years. She was involved with many ministries which included teaching Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, 6th grade Catechism and belonged to the Pricilla and Ruth Circles just to mention a few. While her health forced her to retire from teaching, her love of education carried on in her community volunteer work. It allowed her to continue educating and sharing her gifts with others. Her greatest love was her family and the devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was and remained her greatest joy of life.

In addition to her husband “Red,” Carol is survived by her daughter: Deborah (Robert) Frakes of Bowling Green, OH, grandsons: Matthew (Melissa) Frakes of Rocky River, OH, Ryan Frakes of Bowling Green, OH, granddaughters: Lisa (Pat) Carney, Emily Beeker and Allison (Dan) Lamb all of Bowling Green, OH, great-grandchildren: Shawn, Madison, Lauren, McKenzie, Blake and Nora.
