La Conexion is inviting the Wood County community to Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. The group is calling for solidarity and support for the local Latinx and recent immigrant communities.

The celebration will be held Sept. 14, from 6 p.m. to midnight, at the Junior Fair Building, Wood County Fairgrounds, 900 W. Poe Road, Bowling Green.

The event offers an opportunity to celebrate the collective heritage and culture of Latinx people, as well as an opportunity to highlight the achievements, and celebrate the welcoming spirit of our community, all while having a great time with food, music and dancing.

The event is free but donations are highly encouraged to help cover event expenses and to support the work of La Conexion. Music will be provided by Toledo-based Tex-Mex band Grupo-Dezeo, as well as DJ Canny.

A formal presentation will be held from 7-8 p.m. which will highlight achievements within the community as well as statements of support and solidarity from local government representatives and allied organizations. If your organization, church, or group would like to share a brief statement of solidarity for the Latinx and immigrant communities, please contact La Conexion for more information at 419-308-2328 or at laconexionwc@gmail.com.

La Conexion is a non-profit community-based organization empowering and unifying the Latinx community for positive social change.
