Downtown gas line work progresses south and east

Columbia Gas of Ohio has provided the City of Bowling Green with the following
tentative work schedule for activities planned to begin Aug. 4. Beginning Saturday, crews will begin installing the natural gas main line across Wooster Street at Main Street. This work will occur along the eastern portion of the Main and Wooster intersection.

Once through the intersection, work will commence along the eastbound lane of East Wooster, resulting in a removal of on-street parking and a closure of that lane up to approximately the area just west of the intersection of South Prospect.

During this work, the East Wooster entrance into City Parking Lot 2 will remain open with the exception for a brief portion of time while work is within the entrance. Westbound traffic and the sidewalks will remain open. It is anticipated that this work will last through next week.

Columbia Gas has announced that while the work on East Wooster commences,
additional installation crews will be arriving. These crews will continue the natural gas
line installation on South Main (within the northbound lane) followed by West Wooster
(within the westbound lane) in the coming weeks. Traffic and parking will be impacted.
A detour route around the work zone will be posted.

Restoration and service line installation crews will continue following the main line
installation. Currently, service line efforts are focused on City Parking Lot 1. Once they
are complete in Lot 1, the focus will shift back to Main Street. Restoration crews are
continuing work on East Oak, North Main, and East Court streets. Once service line installation is complete in Lot 1, restoration will occur there.
