Families to learn how to stay healthy for the holidays

The Community Learning Centers is hosting an event for Wood and Lucas County CLC families on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m., called Healthy For The Holidays.

Families will meet at the Wood County Educational Service Center to learn tips on how to stay healthy this holiday season. There will be two guest speakers who are educated in the field of exercise science and nutrition to teach fun and easy ways for the whole family to stay moving this winter. They will also educate families on how to do meal prep, budget at the grocery store, and cost-effective ways to stay fit.

Families will receive free childcare while they attend the parent portion of the event. Children will have the opportunity to enjoy a pizza party, do a veggie and fruit tasting, and fun workouts.

Every child will get a reusable bag to take home that includes a free lunch box, kid-friendly knives, a jump rope, and snack items. Parents will receive dinner from a local restaurant and each family will get a healthy-themed goodie bag including items such as meal prep containers and resistance workout bands.

The Community Learning Centers will also have multiple raffle prizes that families have the chance to win.
