Greg A Loomis

Greg A. Loomis, 56, of Rudolph, Ohio, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 at his mother’s home in Bowling Green surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 1, 1961 in Bowling Green, Ohio to George Loomis Jr. and Nancy (Lewis) Loomis.

Greg was a 1979 graduate of Bowling Green High School and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green. While in high school, he played hockey as a defenseman. His love of hockey continued throughout his life with his favorite team being the Columbus Blue
Jackets. He shared his love of hockey during high school with his father and throughout his last year with his mother. Greg and his father also shared a passion for motorcycles.

At the age of eleven he began delivering newspapers and worked part-time in the mailroom for two years during high school. After graduation, Greg worked for Frank’s Automotive. In 1980, he began working in the press room at the Sentinel Tribune where he continued to work for 34 years. He eventually became the pressroom foreman and held that position for several years until the job was outsourced in 2014. Greg finished his working career at Rosenboom Machine & Tool for
three years before having to retire for health reasons.

He had a soft spot in his heart for dogs and especially loved his last dog, Larry.

Greg is survived by his mother Nancy Loomis of Bowling Green, Ohio, sister Amy (Hans) Kolan of Bowling Green, Ohio, nieces and nephews Heidi Kolan, Gretchen (Nick) Holderman and Staff Sergeant Hans Travis (Lesley) Kolan and great-nieces and nephews Evan Streetman, Olivia
Holderman, Luke Holderman and Adele Holderman.

He was preceded in death by his father George Loomis Jr. who passed away June 7, 2018.

Greg will be deeply missed by his family, neighbors and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday June 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Father Jason Kahle will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately for the family at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Wood County Humane Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Promedica Hospice.
