13abc is once again hosting its annual Hope for the Holidays campaign to benefit the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Since the Hope for the Holidays project began in 2011, more than 113,000 toys have been distributed throughout northwestern Ohio. The campaign continues through Dec. 15 with toy distribution taking place prior to Christmas. The annual “drive thru bash” to be held on Friday, Dec. 8 happens all day (5 a.m.-6:30p.m.) at four area locations.

Volunteers will be accepting new toys at 13abc studios at 4247 Dorr Street. Locations will also be operating at the Salvation Army office: 1045 N. Main St. in Bowling Green and 301 Center St. in Findlay. The Old Newsboys will operate a second Toledo location in front of JC Penney at Franklin Park Mall.

Those wanting to donate in Bowling Green can drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Salvation Army office or Vito’s Pizza, 140 E. Wooster St., through Dec. 15.

In addition to toy donations, the Salvation Army in Bowling Green is continuing to seek volunteers for its Red Kettle campaign. The funds raised during this campaign make it possible for the Salvation Army to assist Wood County residents year round. Volunteers are needed through Dec. 24 and are scheduled for a minimum of two hours. Groups, churches, and businesses are encouraged to adopt-a-kettle for the day.

If you would like to volunteer or need more information, please contact the Salvation Army at 419-352-5918 or 419-601-2760. Kettles are located at:
Kroger, 1094 N. Main St., Bowling Green; Walmart, 131 W. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green; Panera, 139 S. Main St., Bowling Green; Big Lots, 818 S. Main St., Bowling Green; Walgreens, 1013 N.
