Janet Swartzlander (Schwartz), 87, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 19, 2023.
Janet was born on January 11, 1936 to the late Clayton and Arkie (McCollum) Schwartz in Fremont, Ohio. She married Grover Swartzlander on January 7, 1977 in Helena, Ohio, and they shared 40 years of marriage together before his passing in November, 2017.
Janet retired from Bowling Green State University as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, flea markets and traveling.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (John) Stacey, Russ (Deb) Esch, Ray (Kathy) Esch, Jason (Jennifer) Swartzlander, Teresa (Jim) Dezazzo, Melody (Kostas) Tsapranis, and Mary Swartzlander; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nephews & nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Doris Claypool, Lola Kaiser, infant sister, Ellen Schwartz, and 2 grandchildren.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. in Christ’s Church, 14455 Campbell Hill Rd, Bowling Green, OH 43402. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ’s Church.
