Joanne Lucille Spoerl, age 82, passed away April 13, 2016 at Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green. She was born on December 24, 1933, to Alma Eliza (Williams) and Harry Allen Goodger. They preceded her in death. She married Paul Richard Spoerl on August 29, 1953 and he survives. Joanne is also survived by her son Douglas (Jane) Spoerl of Weston; her daughter Amy (Tom) Knoedler of Findlay; grandchildren, Thomas Spoerl and Nicole Spoerl (financé Eric Sargent) and Joanne’s little buddy Bentley Sargent. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Williams. Joanne supported Paul in starting their family farm and was always an intricate part of their multi-generation business. Joanne also worked off farm for many years. She worked at the BGSU Bookstore and later (1982 – 2011) at Wood County Fair Administration Offices as Secretary/Manager. Joanne was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Come-Later Farm Bureau Council, Weston Garden Club, and a 4-H Advisor. Joanne and Paul were Grand Marshals at the 2005 Wood County Fair. After retiring at the age of 77, Joanne enjoyed her flower gardens, attending music in the park and taking care of her perfectly manicured lawn. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Dunn Funeral Home, 408 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise , Bowling Green, at 11 am. Father Mark Davis is officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green or St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green.
