With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Linda Allen, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left us on June 1, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on October 16, 1939 to the late Samuel and Thelma Briggs.
Linda married the love of her life, Donald Allen, on December 10, 1960. She will now join him in eternal rest, as well as her son, Jeff, and her dear parents. Linda was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Linda’s family continues to thrive and honor her legacy. She is survived by her children, Vicky Allen, Beth (Karl) Lowell, and Mike (Pamela) Allen. Her grandchildren, Chad (Jen), Brandi (Keith), Kelsey (Charlie), and Kristen (Curtis), along with her great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Aiden, and Jase, will always carry her spirit with them.
A proud graduate of Cygnet High School, Linda spent 19 years working in the Bursar’s office at Bowling Green State University. She was also an active member of the Portage Methodist Church, where she served as the organist. Her love for crocheting, gardening, and her involvement with the Portage Lions Club and garden club brought her joy and connected her with the community.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held this Friday. June 5 at 10 AM at the Portage Methodist Church, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears in remembrance of her wonderful spirit. A private burial will take place at a later date in Portage Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Portage Methodist Church in Linda’s honor, supporting the place that meant so much to her.
