Local Democrats to host rallies in Ridge Park to urge citizens to vote ‘no’ on Issue 1

Vote 'No' sign

Local Democrats will be hosting two rallies this coming weekend to urge citizens to vote “no” on Issue 1.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, at noon, the group will be rallying at Ridge Park in Bowling Green at 225 Ridge St.

The community is invited to join Ohio State School Board member and former state senator Teresa Fedor, Bowling Green City Council members Jeff Dennis and Rachel Phipps, and the Wood County Young Democrats as they rally to defeat Issue 1 this August.

After meeting at Ridge Park, the group will walk down to the county courthouse to allow anyone who hasn’t voted yet to vote early, and then pick up literature to go knock on friends’ and neighbors’ doors to urge them to vote “no” on Issue 1.

People are welcome if they want to vote, canvass with the group, or just show up in support.

On Sunday, Aug. 6, the group will be rallying at Ridge Park at 1 p.m.  This time, the rally will be led by Perrysburg Council member Jan Materni and Rossford Council member Brenna Reynolds.

All are welcome.
