Nine candidates file for seats on Bowling Green City Council

The filing deadline for candidates running for seats on Bowling Green City Council was today at 4 p.m., at the Wood County Board of Elections.

Filing petitions were four current council members and five newcomers. The board of elections will meet Friday to certify the candidates to appear on the ballot.

Following are the candidates who filed for two at-large council seats and one seat each in the city’s four wards.

Council-at-large (two to be elected)

  • Mark Hollenbaugh, Democrat, 315 Parkview Drive.
  • Gregory W. Robinette, Republican, 1501 Cardinal Road.

First Ward (one to be elected)

  • Mark R. Hanson, Republican, 122 E. Evers Ave.
  • Nick Rubando, Democrat, 140 N. Main St.

Second Ward (one to be elected)

  • Joel O’Dorisio, Democrat, 1001 Napoleon Road.

Third Ward (one to be elected)

  • Tony J. Hunter, Republican, 1547 Gleneagles Drive.
  • Rachel Phipps, Democrat, 920 Clark St.

Fourth Ward (one to be elected)

  • William J. Herald, Republican, 1030 Conneaut Ave.
  • Sandra M. Lepper, Democrat, 621 N. Grove St.
