Panel to discuss factors influencing migration from Mexico and Central America

The La Conexion Immigrant Solidarity Committee invites the community to attend an educational program to understand the factors influencing migration out of Central America and Mexico.  The program, entitled “Pushed Out: The Root Causes of Migration from Mexico and Central America,” will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Wood County District Public Library Atrium. The program is free and open to the public.

Speakers for the program will include Rev. Herb Weber from Saint John XXIII, Dr. Valeria Grinberg Pla from BGSU, Deb Boyce from Toledo Catholic Diocese, and Dr. Michaela Walsh from BGSU.  Weber and Boyce have done humanitarian work in Guatemala and the U.S./Mexico border, respectively.  Grinberg Pla and Walsh will discuss the current and past situations in Central America and Mexico.
