Police investigate thefts from 2 vehicles, including one that reportedly had $5,000 in wallet

Thefts from two vehicles were reported on Saturday – including one report from a woman who said she had left $5,000 in the car overnight.

Bowling Green Police Division responded to one report Saturday morning from a woman who said someone stole her wallet out of her car that was parked overnight on Fourth Street.

She said the wallet had $5,000 in cash, her Social Security card, a card containing her banking account and routing number, her high school ID, and a few gift cards.

Police responded later Saturday night to a report of a theft from a vehicle on the 100 block of East Court Street. In this case, the woman said her stolen wallet contained a debit card, ID card, insurance cards belonging to herself and her children, a Costco card and miscellaneous change.

Witnesses did report to police that they saw a white male with long curly hair looking around inside the vehicle. When they spoke to him, the suspect reportedly ran off toward Main Street.
