Public forum to examine tax dollars subsidizing private schools and proposed ‘Backpack Bills’

A public forum on public tax dollars subsidizing private schools will be held Thursday, March 16, in Bowling Green. 

The forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Bowling Green, will explain Ohio’s current school voucher programs and the impact of the proposed “Backpack Bills” on public schools.

The forum will be held from 7 to 8 p.m, in the Simpson Garden Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green.

The event will include a brief presentation and panel discussion with local superintendents Tom Hosler of Perrysburg Schools and Matt Geha of Springfield Schools, and treasurers Adam Koch of Sylvania Schools and Cathy Schuller of Bowling Green City Schools.

The discussion will be facilitated by Bowling Green State University teaching professor Todd Cramer.
