Richard A Entenman

Richard Allen Entenman, 71, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away at his home on October 7, 2023, after a year-long battle with Cancer. Richard showed great resilience and strength when he became ill, and his positive attitude was a great encouragement to his family. Until his last days, he continued working and starting new projects, which brought him great joy.

Richard was a very hard worker throughout his life. He began managing Hubbard Lumber as a young man which began his lifelong love of hardwood lumber. He later moved into his family’s roofing business, Enterprise Roofing and Sheet Metal, where he spent the majority of his career. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting Enterprise Services as well as Reliance Roofing later in his life. He flourished in the construction business, meeting and building lifelong friendships with customers along the way.

Richard enjoyed construction and built and restored several homes and buildings throughout his life. He loved nature, trees, birds, and fishing, and believed strongly in the preservation of animal life and habitat. He was most proud of the spring fed pond he recently developed on his Bowling Green property as well as an arbor of oak trees he planted adjacent to the pond as his way of giving back to the Earth. He was most at peace walking around his pond where he could meditate, and as he would say, “feel closest to God.”

An avid Ohio Buckeyes fan, Richard always set aside time from work to watch the OSU games with family. Richard will be remembered for his quirky and sometimes irreverent humor. He always found something humorous in daily life and loved to share stories with whomever would listen. Richard always recognized the best in everyone and was a generous giver of his time and talents, never too busy to stop and help others.

Richard is survived by his children David, Todd (Christa), Kyle, and Callan (Bronson); eight grandchildren, Abi, Verily, Pearl, Dane, Stanley, Elsie, Joy, and Beverly; and brothers Don and Doug (Stephanie). Richard remained close friends with his former wife, Jan, throughout his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Audrey Entenman.

Richard will be greatly missed, but his family is at peace knowing he has been reunited with his parents and his Grandpa Wesley Bueche, who was his role model and mentor in business as well as in life.

A visitation will be held Friday October 13, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio 43566. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Rebecca Henry will officiate.
