Robert William Ostrander

Robert William Ostrander “Bobby O” entered into eternal rest peacefully at home with his family present and near on Sunday, October 30. He was born July 11, 1950 to Kenneth William and Dolores Jean (Jennings) Ostrander. Bob loved to play sports and was a fine athlete. He enjoyed hockey, baseball and watching the Detroit Tigers or Red Wings. He graduated from Start High School and attended both Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo. Bob played goaltender for the Toledo Junior Blades and enjoyed coaching youth hockey and softball leagues. He was a self-proclaimed “rink rat” and Zamboni driver at Tam-O-Shanter for many years. Bob was a self-employed upholsterer and retired from Bel-Main Upholstery. He had excellent ability to choose style, color and fabrics to create artistic function. He enjoyed boating the waters of Lake Erie and living life to the fullest. He was genuine, honest and did not waste words. He was married to his life love Cherie (McDonald) Ostrander in 1970 and is survived by their children Dawn Ostrander (Phil Sayen) and David Ostrander(Laura Rhodes); grandchildren: Joseph Evans, Jamie Evans, Justin Ellis, and Caleb Ostrander Bowser; He is also survived by his mother, Jean Miller; his stepmother Judy Ostrander; sisters: Sandy (Jim) Stange, Diana (Dave) Battin, Katie (Marc) Corbett, and Maria (Bryan) Stachowiak; brothers: Tracy (Beverly) Arnold, and Chris (Debbie) Ostrander and his loving friend: Marilynn Rice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherie, and his father, Kenneth.
