Sally E Brown

Sally Erick Brown, 73, of Bowling Green, OH, died from leukemia on January 20, 2017.  She was born to the late Harry F. and Portia B. Erick on November 10, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. Sally graduated from Newark High School in 1961. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wittenberg University. After graduating from college, she taught elementary school for a few years in Ohio, West Virginia, and Massachusetts.

Sally married Douglas Brown, her husband of 50 years, on June 11, 1966. They resided in Arlington, VA for over 40 years. In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by son, Jeff, of Salt Lake City, UT, daughter, Susan and husband, Steve Demuth, of Bowling Green, OH, brother Edward Erick and wife Sandy of Fredericktown, OH, brother-in-law David Brown and wife Ginny of Ostrander, OH, and nieces and nephews.

Sally enjoyed several hobbies, including reading, gardening, water color, sewing, and quilting. She was a longstanding member of the Arlington, VA chapter of Quilters Unlimited. She cultivated a large circle of lifelong friends from childhood (the Newark girls), college (ADPi sisters), the quilters and beyond.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Dunn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
