Six BGHS musicians to perform with All State ensembles

Six students musicians from Bowling Green High School will be traveling to Cleveland this week to participate in Ohio Music Education All State Ensembles in Columbus.

They represent choir, orchestra, and band.

The musicians are:

  • Whitney Bechstein, senior who sings alto in choir. She is the daughter of Leah and Chad Bechstein. 
  • Drew  Thomas, a junior who sings bass in chorale and madrigals. He is the son of Holliday and Andy Thomas.
  • Eli Metzger, a junior who plays violin in orchestra and the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra. He is the son of Jeff and Jenny Metzger.
  • AidanPeper, a senior who plays saxophone in symphonic and marching bands. He is the son of Kim Peper and Aaron Peper.
  • Robert Stygles, a freshman who plays string bass in orchestra and the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra.
  • Libby Barnett, a junior who sings soprano in chorale and madrigals. She is the daughter of Rachel and Michael Barnett.

Asked about what they were most looking forward as participants in All State, they all said playing music with other who were as passionate about it as they were.
