He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Long, Ralph and Lucille Fork.

Steve was born on July 8, 1982, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville, Ohio. He attended Pemberville Elementary School and later graduated from Eastwood High School in 2000, attending his last two years at Penta County for computer programming. Steve played football, wrestling and track at EHS. He graduated from NMI in Findlay, Ohio, with a degree in nuclear medicine. Steve started working in Scottsdale, AZ, as a nuclear medical technician. While in Arizona, he discovered his love of hiking the mountains. He then traveled to Sacramento, CA, Salinas, CA, and later back to Indiana where he was currently working at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka.

Steve was an avid Notre Dame  and Raiders fan. He is remembered for his great love of music, playing the piano, building computers and his love of the movies. He could be quite the film critic with a great understanding of directing and acting. Steve’s sense of humor always kept his family and friends in stitches. He had a kind, gentle heart, loved his family and his friends, and gave the best hugs. Steve also suffered from mental health challenges, especially depression, to which he succumbed. Steve’s faith helped him with his struggles, especially in the last 5 years of his life, by reading and studying the bible.
