Teachers to visit BG workplaces to help students find career paths

An “Educator in the Workplace” program is being offered this week by Northwest Ohio Tech Prep and “High Schools That Work” to help students find careers.

On Monday, more than 20 teachers from Northwest Ohio will meet at the Wood County Educational Service Center to learn from various Bowling Green individuals about career pathways they may take back to their students in the fall.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the teachers will tour four local businesses and organizations. Following are the workplaces to be visited:

  • Rosenboom Custom Crafted Cylinders, in Bowling Green, with the speaker being Travis Reiff, Ohio director of operations.
  • Wood County Hospital, in Bowling Green, with speaker Liz Foreman, vice president of human resources.
  • Northwestern Water and Sewer District, just north of Bowling Green, with speaker Theresa Pollick, the public information director.
  • Wood County Park District, north of Bowling Green, with speaker Jim Witter, certified interpretive guide, program coordinator, and Ohio certified volunteer naturalist coordinator.
