Vera Evelyn (Green) Roe, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born May 29, 1923 to Stanley and Laura Green. She graduated from Tontogany High School and attended beauty school. After she received her license, she worked at Monty’s in Bowling Green as a beautician.
She married George Roe Jr. of Weston on March 17, 1942. The couple had five children, Sue Coker, Ruth (Bob) Snyder of Weston, Bill (Joyce) Roe of Bowling Green, Jim (Robin) Roe of Tontogany and Debbie (Eric) Vollmar of Weston, 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was a life-long member of Plain Church in Bowling Green and a 74 year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband and had friends all over the country. She loved to cook and bake as well as crafting. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and spoiling her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sue and her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 1, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565. An Eastern Star Service and Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Marty Braemer will officiate. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Plain Church.
