Wood County reports 2,713 new COVID cases, 9 deaths, 40 hospitalizations in past week

Wood County has reported 2,713 new COVID cases, nine more deaths, and 40 more hospitalizations in the past week, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.

Wood County is seeing an average of 349 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 1,994 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.

During the last two weeks, the 3024 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 1,065; Bowling Green, 754; Northwood, 185; Rossford, 147; Walbridge, 119; North Baltimore, 92; Weston, 72; Pemberville, 59; Millbury, 54; Fostoria, 53; BGSU, 50; Wayne, 46; Luckey, 46; Grand Rapids, 45; Haskins, 41; Bradner, 26; Cygnet, 25; Rudolph, 20; Milton Center, 18; Portage, 16; Risingsun, 15; Hoytville, 11; and Bloomdale, 10.

Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. The report issued Jan. 20  gave an update of student and staff cases, including:

  • Penta, 33 students, 0 staff.
  • Perrysburg, 3 students, 7 staff.
