It is an exciting time to be in Bowling Green as we are a community with a clear upward trajectory. By leveraging our many strong and unique community assets, we are positioned to capitalize on additional opportunities for growth.
I do believe, though, that we are at an especially important crossroad when considering the future of our community. We are confronted with a need to invest in our public schools. It has been proven that investing in education is critical to the future of our community. Strong and properly supported schools contribute to the quality of life in a community and vibrant schools also positively impact economic growth and community vitality.
To say it more directly: strong Bowling Green City Schools are vital to our community now and into the future. The result of the upcoming election will heavily influence what the BG community will look like in the future. What is at stake are many of the programs essential to a comprehensive education that contribute to the development of our young people, the next generation of business owners, innovators and community leaders.
The upcoming election provides us with an opportunity to influence what our school system, and to some degree, what the entire Bowling Green community will look like in the future. It is time for us to step up and grasp control of the future of our schools and our community’s trajectory.
The choice at hand is not just about funding schools, it is about preserving many of the unique attributes that combine to make Bowling Green a place where families want to live, work, and grow and where businesses continue to thrive. I hope that you will join me and vote YES for Bowling Green schools.
