The Bowling Green Community Center is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In recognition, the City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a membership deal and free admission.

The Family Annual Membership Special is offered to residents and non-residents, and includes passes sold at a $20 discount Aug. 4-10. The special only applies to those looking to purchase a family annual pass.

The Community Center is also waiving daily admission fees Aug. 8-10, with access to all amenities in the facility.

The Bowling Green Training and Community Center, located at 1245 W. Newton Road, opened on Aug. 6, 2005. The 79,000-square-foot facility was built through a collaborative effort by the Ohio Army National Guard, the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and the City of Bowling Green.

The facility features include two gymnasiums, 1/8 mile track, a fitness center, classrooms/meeting rooms, recreational and fitness spaces, a multi-generational game room, and locker rooms. The Bowling Green athletic fields and the soon-to-be opened pickleball courts are also located on-site.

Over the years, the facility has been the site for learning and competing in a variety of sports and programs, from adult basketball leagues to youth day camps. It serves as the meeting ground for families and neighbors hosting events and working in collaboration to assist the Bowling Green community.

“Parks and Recreation is excited to recognize our passholders and guests in 20 years of movement and wellness in Bowling Green,” Director of Parks and Recreation Kristin Otley said. “We invite the community to enjoy the many options that the facility provides.”
