Meet Amber, a sweet senior lab mix that was brought to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.
“She was a little shy coming in, but has quickly come out of her shell and loves to hang out in the office or sunbathe during the day,” Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said.
Amber is estimated to be between 7 and 9 years old.
“She loves everybody she meets and really has liked the kids that have visited with her,” Harding said. “She can be a little picky about dogs, so a meet and greet would be necessary before going home with anyone.”
Amber has had her da2pp and Bordetella vaccine and is currently on the waiting list for her spay/rabies/vet exam.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
