BGSU partners with Downtown Bowling Green to create ‘Homecoming Passport’

From BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY

Bowling Green State University and Downtown Bowling Green have partnered for this year’s Homecoming celebration for alumni, families, students, and community members, while supporting local businesses with the launch of a new “Homecoming Passport.”

With the free digital Homecoming Passport, people can earn points toward giveaways of BGSU-themed gear by checking in at Homecoming events or any of the 30 participating Bowling Green businesses, which will also offer exclusive deals and discounts for passport users. The mobile-friendly passport also serves as a source for BGSU Homecoming event information, maps, and rewards.

Available on the BGSU Homecoming website, the Homecoming Passport does not require an app download and is accessible via text or email after registering.

“We are proud to partner with Downtown Bowling Green to elevate the experience of this year’s Homecoming celebration,” said Adrea Spoon, assistant vice president for alumni engagement and annual giving at BGSU. “Our connection to the city of Bowling Green is woven into the BGSU experience, with many students and alumni having fond memories of time spent at various shops, restaurants, parks, and more. With the launch of the Homecoming Passport, people will have the opportunity to create new memories while also enjoying deals and discounts and supporting Bowling Green businesses.”

“For generations, Falcons have made memories in Downtown BG’s shops and restaurants, and the Homecoming Passport invites alumni to explore new spots and revisit old favorites while giving today’s students the chance to start creating lifelong memories that make Bowling Green feel like home,” said Hallie Williams, executive director of Downtown Bowling Green.

Celebrating Freddie Falcon’s 75th birthday, this year’s BGSU Homecoming celebration from Sept. 11 – 14 will blend long-standing favorites and traditions with birthday-themed surprises for people of all ages in one of the nation’s safest college towns. The four-day celebration on campus and in the city will feature multiple family-friendly activities, events, and performances, including the Welcome Back Party, Falconland, Homecoming Tailgate Park, Falcon football vs. Liberty, and more.
