Mary the mixed breed looking for active home with couch to curl up on after zoomies

Meet Mary, a 1-year-old Catahoula/lab mix that was brought to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.

“She is a super fun-loving girl who loves everyone she meets,” Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said. “She does great with other dogs, and hasn’t met a stranger at the shelter yet. She is looking for an active home that can keep up with her energetic lifestyle. Once she gets her zoomies out, she loves to cuddle and would love a couch to curl up on.”

Mary is up to date on her shots, heartworm negative, and spayed.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month. In honor of this, the dog shelter will be extending its hours on Mondays and Wednesdays (with the exception of Columbus Day) until 7:30 p.m. to come and adopt a dog or claim a missing dog.

The normal hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
