From WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was recently approached by the Ohio Soybean Council to test a new market for tires – soy-based tires – made in Ohio, for patrol vehicles.
Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said, “Thanks to the Ohio Soybean Council, we were able to receive a full set of tires for one of our patrol vehicles that are soy-based Goodyear tires, replacing petroleum oils with renewable soybeans. We are extremely grateful for the donation and proud to be using Ohio farmers’ products on our patrol vehicle. A safe, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective product just makes sense.”
The tires are manufactured in Ohio, powered by soybeans and harvested by Ohio farmers. The soy-based Goodyear tires are created for Ohio’s unpredictable weather and created to be able to handle the job for patrol vehicles with their innovative design.
