Wheelie Good Cause invites cyclists to ride for cancer research; two rides are based in BG

From WHEELIE GOOD CAUSE

Wheelie Good Cause, an area 501(c)(3) organization, invites cyclists to ride for a cause at any of its bicycle events this summer.

According to co-founder and chairman Dan Goeder, Wheelie Good Cause is dedicated to supporting cancer research/treatment, and inspiring healthier lifestyles through cycling events. The mission focuses on advancing cutting-edge cancer research and treatment at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus and supporting the local Toledo community through the life-changing services provided by the Victory Center.

These events bring together a community of riders, supporters, and families who share the vision of ending cancer while supporting the survivors, fighters, and their loved ones while honoring the memory of those who have lost their battle.

This year’s rides include two of the events based out of Bowling Green.

This Friday, June 12, Brewing Green, 322 N. Grove St., is the check-in site for the ride. Check-in is at 6 p.m.  with roll-out at 6:30 p.m. Riders can choose from an 8-mile route or 20-mile route. Cost is $25 to participate on either of the routes. To register for the Brewing Green event, visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/BowlingGreen/wgcbrewinggreen.

Saturday, Aug. 22, Arlyn’s Good Beer, 520 Hankey Ave, is the site for the “Neither Fast Nor Furious Tour.” The ride is 48 miles with multiple stops along the route.  Arlyn’s is hosting the ride. Check-in starts at 9 a.m. and roll-out is at 9:30 p.m. To register for the 48-mile ride, visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/BowlingGreen/NFNF.

There is also a ride that starts and ends at Patron Saints, 4730 W Bancroft St. #8, Toledo, on Friday, July 17.  Check-in is at 6 p.m. at Patron Saints, and roll-out for the 10-mile route is at 6:30 p.m. To register, visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Toledo/WheelieGoodCauseRideAtPatronSaints

The beginnings of Wheelie Good Cause originated in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past five years, the rides have raised $3,500 for The Jamees Cancer Hospital. In 2025, the founders met again to discuss the annual ride and decided to expand their efforts by creating a 501(c)(3) organization. In 2026, they recognized the impact that the Victory Center is having in our local community and have committed to supporting their efforts as well.
