On Nov. 3, Wood County voters will decide on a renewal levy for the Wood County Committee on Aging, a.k.a. the senior center. It’s not a new tax but a renewal that will not increase your taxes.
I delivered meals for almost 20 years and saw how valuable the home-delivered meals program is for our older adults. My mom benefited from these nutritious meals, and they allowed her to stay in her home longer. This not only helped my mom but gave our family peace of mind knowing that she always had good food and someone checked on her every day.
There are so many older Wood County residents who depend on the senior center services. Not only for the daily meals but also for transportation to doctor appointments, social services, and wellness programs.
Please join me in voting “yes” to support this important renewal levy.
