The purpose of this letter is not to criticize the decision-making ability of the Democrat candidate for Wood County commissioner. Broadcast and social media have already done a pretty thorough job of this.
There are many issues facing our county that will require experienced leadership and sound decision-making ability to tackle. Just a few of these are sound economic growth, the future of emergency services, and maintenance of Wood County’s infrastructure.
My goal is to encourage voters to take a careful look at the county commissioner race and to vote for the best qualified candidate. An important way to do that is to look at the past experience of the choices. As a Washington Township trustee for over 30 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many county commissioners. As I look at the choices we voters have in this race, one candidate stands out.
Republican Ryan Lee has been an active volunteer firefighter for almost 30 years, has been both a Jerry City council member and mayor, served on the Elmwood school board, is a current board member of the Northwest Ohio Water and Sewer District, and is an assistant superintendent at Penta Career Center. This diverse background of service prepares Ryan to be a qualified Wood County commissioner.
I encourage all voters to do their homework and vote to elect the best candidate for Wood County commissioner, Ryan Lee.
