Larry D. Smith, 80, lifelong resident of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Sunday June 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 9, 1936 in Bowling Green to C.D. and Helene Smith. He married Colleen Olson on August 12, 1967 and she survives in Bowling Green. Larry spent his entire life in Bowling Green, graduating from Bowling Green High School in 1955. He was the owner of Smith Machine and Welding. He was a lifetime member of the Maumee-Bowling Green Elks Club, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, VFW Post in Bowling Green, Amvets 711 in Bowling Green and was a proud U-Haul provider from 2003-2012. Along with his wife of 48 years, Colleen, Larry is survived by his son Andrew (Julie) Smith of Chesterton, Indiana, son-in-law Allen Seifert of Waterville, Ohio , sister Janis (Smith) Johnson of Tontogany, Ohio, grandchildren Morgan Seifert Stanfield (Curtis) of Waterville, Ohio, Zachary Seifert of Waterville, Ohio, Katherine Smith of Chesterton, Indiana and Hannah Smith of Chesterton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by daughter Robin Smith Seifert, brothers Gary Smith and Jerry Smith and sister Joan Margaret Smith. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 8, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. A Maumee-Bowling Green Elks service will begin on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Scott Estep presiding. Larry’s family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life gathering that will be held on Thursday June 9, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bowling Green Eagles, 1163 N Main Street.
