Frank “Bill” Kesting Jr., 88, of Haskins, Ohio passed away Friday August 19, 2016 at Bowling Green Manor. Bill was born April 25, 1928 to Frank and Helen Kesting.
Bill was a finish carpenter and job superintendent for Comte and Commonwealth Construction Companies.
In 1954 Bill married Marilyn Wilcox and they raised 3 sons.
Bill’s grandfather, Joseph Kesting Sr. was a masonry contractor. He built 16 churches. One of them was St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. On December 4, 1979 the church was destroyed by fire. While being a job superintendent for Commonwealth Construction, Bill had the opportunity to rebuild the church his grandfather originally built in the 1900’s.
He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn and sister, Patricia. He is survived by his sons Tom, Larry (Monica) and Jim Kesting, grandchildren Elyse (Austin) Bryant, Ian Kesting, Jessica (Shawn) Salters and Ashley Kesting, great-granddaughter Jovie Bryant and sisters Rita Kaspitzke and Joanne Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise Street in Bowling Green. Father Mark Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens in Bowling Green where full Military Honors will be rendered by the Wood County Honor Detail. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. Additional visitation will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday at the church.
The family would like to thank Bowling Green Manor and St. Luke’s Hospital for all of the wonderful care he received.
Memorial Contributions may be given in Bill’s memory to St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
