Both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, but Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats Baseball team defeated Southview 3-1. BG pitchers allowed just four hits to Southview.
In the first inning, the Bobcats got their offense started. Ryan Jackson’s sac fly scored one run for BG.
Brady Gaines took the win for Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Jimmy LaForce threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Cameron Moran was on the pitcher’s mound for Southview. The pitcher surrendered three runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out four.
Gaines, Braden Loomis, and Brock Hastings each collected one hit to lead the Bobcats. BG didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackson had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
Southview was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Oliver Theiss had the most chances in the field with eight.
