From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bowling Green State University Office of the President’s team of Jim Elsasser, Kyle Hallock, Bill Mathis, and Rick Williamson took home the crown at the annual Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble, Aug. 23, shooting 21 under par at the Stone Ridge Golf Club.
The Drone Golf Ball Drop, performed by Toledo Aerial Media and sponsored by Sandwisch Enterprises, was won by Tammy Corral, whose ball ended up closest to the target.
The Golf Scramble is a major annual event for the Chamber of Commerce, serving as its only fundraiser each year. All proceeds from the event are put back into the Chamber for programming, events and more that directly benefit our Investors.
Other awards were given out on the course, including Middle of the Pack to the team that finished in the middle of the standings, and Reverse First to the team with the highest point total. The Marsh & Marsh Law Office team of Ryan Rothenbuhler, Reid Rothenbuhler, Kerry Rothenbuhler, and Thomas Curtis took home the Middle of the Pack award with a round of nine under par. The Copy Shop’s two-man team of Van Spears and Jim Darrach finished two over par en route to claiming Reverse First.
Throughout the day, special challenges were added to enhance participant’s golf experience, such as the Skins game, which was also won by the BGSU Office of the President team. Additionally, there were multiple proximity winners who went home with prizes. The women’s longest drive to the fairway was earned on a long shot by Deb Butler of the Wood County Hospital. On the men’s side, it was Trey Walker with Easystreet Cafe that drove his ball the furthest. The winning BGSU Office of the President team got a boost when Rick Williamson put his ball closest to the pin of all competitors. Finally, Quinn Miller of Wood County Insurance sunk the longest putt on the day.
Alongside the closest to the pin award, the Drone Golf Ball Drop, sponsored by Sandwisch Enterprises and performed by Toledo Aerial Media, had three other cash prizes given out. Second closest to the pin was Joe Williams. Third closest was Wood County Hospital. Finally, the furthest ball from the pin was Kent Kokomoor.
All our golfers were treated to an incredible lunch, sponsored by Huntington Bank, and provided by the Stone Ridge Golf Club, which included a ribs and chicken buffet and drinks sponsored by Elite Collegiate Apparel. While there, golfers were also able to win one of 12 bottles of bourbon in the Bourbon Pyramid, sponsored by Beckett’s Burger Bar and Barrell Room. Breakfast was sponsored by Farmers & Merchants State Bank alongside coffee sponsored by KeyBank.

The Golf Scramble event was meticulously planned for months by the Golf Scramble Project Team, which was co-chaired by Nick Pfeiffer and Kent Kokomoor. The project team also included Emily Hyder-Jasinski, Gina O’Hare, Greg Esposito, Tammy Corral, Belinda Bates, Melinda Kale, Sondra King, and Brandon Hemminger. The planning and on-site event was coordinated by Kristen Kreienkamp, Event Lead for the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. Without Kristen’s tireless efforts, the event would not have run as smoothly and as successfully as it did.
