Bowling Green Board of Education recognized performances on the field, on courses, on courts, on stage and in classrooms during the monthly meeting held last week.
Executive Director of Pupil Services Allie Willibey talked about the PBIS Bronze Award from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce Development. All three elementaries, the middle and high schools, earned the award for the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program. Willibey gave a shout out to all the staff working to make PBIS a success.
Jo Beth Gonzalez recognized two students for earning 2024 International Thespian Excellence Awards. Piper Stutzman earned a superior rating for costume construction, and Dylan Haught earned a superior rating for solo musical. Both qualified to compete in the International Thespian Festival at Ball State University.
Patrick Carney was recognized for earning the Coach of the Year Cardinal Division for BG High School Girls Cross Country.
Carney recognized the high school cross country girls for making NLL All-League Cardinal Division 1st Team – Lilly Downey, Kate Scarletto-Scholl and Averie Crawford.
Also recognized were members of the NLL Cardinal Division Team Champions – Averie Crawford, Natalie Neeson, Sierra Jessee, Tess Challu, Kiera Novinsky, Makena Bonaguro, Evelyn Malone, Kale Smith, Shelby Janes, Annie Oberlander, Romy Nazario, Kendall Crawford, Rylee Ruehl, Madison Carney, Emma Nester, Maralissa Waterfield, Delanie Jarvi, Ava Peper, Lila Vanneman, Madeline Evans, Kate Scarletto-Scholl, Samantha Clark, Ella Nickey, Addison Naus, Emarie Headley, Emily Adams-Swain, Calista Motisher, Lilly Downey and Laina Schmeltz.

Girls tennis coach Andy Drumm introduced NLL All-League Cardinal Division First Team as Julia Barnett (player of the year), Teeda Cromwell, and Sarah Mathey. The girls tennis NLL Cardinal Division Team Champions included – Isabella Armentano, Zoe Brujic, Sarah Mathey, Caroline Baker, Meredith Buchhop, Lily Rader, Julia Barnett, Teeda Cromwell, Kathryn Tyrrell, Alexis Bechstein, Miriam Faulkner, and Nia Warman.
Boys soccer NLL All-League Cardinal Division First Team included Tomas Meek (co-player of the year) and Luca Briniger.
Girls soccer NLL All-League Cardinal Division First Team included Elena Kramer and Alayna Mahan.
Volleyball NLL All-League Cardinal Division First Team included Madison Cowan and Hanna Heinze. (Neither were present at the meeting.)
In football, earning NLL All-League Cardinal Division First Team were running back Ja’ceous Shannon, defensive end Jackson Shafer, inside linebacker Landon Deiter, and safety Carter Earl.
