Alice Katherine Peet (92), long-time resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Alice Peet was a beloved wive, mother, grandmother and friend to all she met. Alice was born on January 12, 1932, in Port Neches, Tx. to Mittie Louise and Edwin Osborn Hines. Curtis L. Peet, Jr. and Alice Katherine Hines married on September 7, 1952 and welcomed two sons, Curtis Edwin Peet (December 1, 1956) and Glen Lee Peet (May 28, 1960).
Survivors include her son, Glen Peet, three grandsons, Curtis Andrew Hobbs Peet, James David Hobbs Peet and William Pierce Hobbs Peet (Tiffany Lea Payne Peet), and a daughter-in-law, Susan Hobbs Peet. Alice Peet was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Peet, Jr., oldest son, Curtis Edwin Peet, parents EO and Mittie Hines, two sisters, Velma Wolgast and Maurine Knight.
Alice worked as a medical technician at Memorial City Medical Hospital in Houston during the 1970s. Curtis and Alice lived in London for several years before returning to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Alice Peet was a loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Alice and Curtis Peet were married for 70 years. The two of them cherished their two sons – Curtis Edwin Peet and Glen Lee Peet – and raised these boys to be men of honor. To their three grandsons, Alice was the best grandmother in the world. Alice Peet always had chocolate chip cookies in the freezer, annually provided hand-painted Christmas sweatshirts, and produced heirloom-quality needlepoint Christmas stockings for each grandson. She also had a love for dogs.
Alice was a long-standing member of Adams Blvd. Church of Christ in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The Peet Family wishes to thank Adams Blvd. Church of Christ, Rivercross Hospice, and the staff and administrators at Brookdale North in Bartlesville for ongoing support and care. The care provided to Alice by Glen Peet and Ruth Robinson was unwavering.
A graveside service will be held on Monday June 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
