Alice M. Kerr, 85, of McComb, passed away on December 10, 2024, at The Meadows of Ottawa, from complications of Covid and pneumonia. She was born on April 10, 1938, in Bowling Green, Ohio to William and Esther (Mills) Yates. Both parents have preceded her in death. In March of 1989, she married Gale “Buck” Kerr, and he preceded her in death in July of 2018.
She was a graduate of Bowling Green High School, and was retired from Consolidated Biscuit Company in McComb. She also had worked as a bartender at the McComb VFW Post. In her later years she was a babysitter, that was a job she truly enjoyed. In their spare time, Alice and Buck enjoyed their time in Port Clinton at their trailer, fishing and going to the horse races. They were also McComb sports fans especially the football program, and Alice was a member of the affectionately named “Cowbell Brigade.” She was a Member of the McComb Athletic Boosters, and so proud of her school. She was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan and enjoyed them in the college season. Her biggest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, going on JB Tours, and Elvis; she was a huge Elvis fan.
Alice had 4 children; Kip Yates, of Hilliard, Ohio; Terry Yates of Prot Clinton; Scott and Rhonda Varner of Findlay Ohio; and Mark and Stacy Moorman of Ottawa Ohio. She had 8 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Drive South, McComb, Ohio 45858 on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 11am-1pm with a service at 1pm officiated by Pastor Doug Kendrick, burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green Ohio.
