Allan Paul “Al” Kempf, 67, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on July 23, 1957 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Robert “Whitey” and Kathleen “Kattie” (Wilhelm) Kempf. Al was the second born of five children and raised in a catholic home in rural Custar, Ohio. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar and graduated in 1975 from Bowling Green High School.
Al worked as a laborer and quality control inspector at Jeep of Toledo, Ohio for over 33 years. After retiring in 2007, he kept busy driving parts for Auto Value Parts, Bowling Green. He was a member of the Maumee-Bowling Green Elks Lodge #1850.
He was always an avid sports fan. He cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He also spent countless days on the golf course, playing in leagues and sharing rounds with friends. Al bowled for many years and traveled to state and national bowling tournaments with his league team from the former Varsity Lanes. In his younger years, he even played men’s slow pitch softball.
He will forever be remembered for his love of sports, his independence and his kind heart. A good son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Debra) Kempf; Marlene Trumbull; Lynne (Michael) Himburg; Dale (Theresa) Kempf; 7 nieces and nephews, Sara (Danny) Dec; Eric Kempf; Kenneth Trumbull; Aleasha (Salvador) Delgado; Amanda Kempf (Chris Boyer); Ashley Himburg; Mykayla Ortega (Garrett Kirby); 8 great nieces and nephews, Khloe Dec; Olivia Dec; Paisley Dec; Gabriel Dec; Julian Delgado; Max Delgado; Sophie Kempf; Lillie Kempf.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Trumbull and his faithful canine companion of 14 years, Macie.
Funeral services will be 11:00 on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Fr. Francis Mariadas officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar and a luncheon will follow in the school basement Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the funeral home.
