BG School Board member Ardy Gonyer at Tuesday's meeting

Bowling Green Board of Education member Ardy Gonyer was recognized Tuesday evening by the Ohio School Board Association.

Gonyer was presented the OSBA Aptitude Award, which requires a board member to demonstrate an understanding and comprehension of a variety of board governance skills based on six leadership areas – vision, accountability, policy, community engagement, relationships and advocacy.

Marty Rothey, the northwest region manager of the Ohio School Board Association, was present at the school board meeting Tuesday evening to present the award to Gonyer.

Rothey noted that Gonyer is the second BG board member to receive the Aptitude Award, with board President Tracy Hovest previously earning the recognition.
