Bowling Green Arts Council (BGAC) has announced “Artists 4 Animals 9,” an animal-themed, juried art show from Oct. 17 – Nov. 7, at ArtSpace, 178 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit their works of art to help both the arts and the animals. Up to three original works of art in any medium except time-based (e.g. video or animation) can be entered in the show. Artist categories, with prizes for each, include: K-4th grade, 5th – 8th grade, 9th – 12th grade, and adults. Awards will also be given for the “Best Domestic Animal” and “Best Wild Animal,” as well as a “People’s Choice Award” to be tallied at the end of the show. Note cards featuring the winning images, except People’s Choice, will be available for sale at the reception and at locations in Bowling Green.
The deadline for submission, application, and payment is Thursday, Sept. 25. The entry fee for adult artist BGAC members is $15. Non-members’ fee is $45, which includes a one-year membership to BGAC. The entry fee for K-12 artists is waived. Teachers are encouraged to enter their students’ work on a special form. A public opening reception at ArtSpace will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16. Artists 4 Animals 9 is sponsored by the Bowling Green Arts Council and The Copy Shop. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Wood County Humane Society.
